Hey, @tedmed. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. What version of Lightroom & the macOS are you working on? Where is the Lightroom Catalog stored? On the internal or external drive?

To begin troubleshooting, reset Lightroom Classic following the second (manual) method from this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html

Try these steps if the reset does not help:

  • Press the OPT  when launching Lightroom Classic & choose the option to create a new catalog and create a new one on the internal drive.

  • If the above step does not launch Lightroom Classic, go to the following location to launch Photoshop via the terminal.
In Finder > Application Folder > Lightroom Classic > Right-click on Lightroom.app > Show Package Contents > Contents > macOS > Lightroom - double click to open.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
Sameer K

hi Sameer, thank you for your answer,

i am using the latest Lightroom version available as it shows that the software is up to date in the creative Cloud app, and i am on Mac OS ventura 13.3, and i havent defined a catalog yet, by opening lightroom all i get is the blank screen showed above and no possibility of creating a new catalog,

- i tried to reset the preferences following the second method but it didnt work

- the OPT button when lanching lightroom is not showing an option of creating a new catalog

- launching lightroom from a terminal prompts the following message :

ERROR: Failed to create directory (/Users/mehditadlaoui/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Logs/), errno 13, parent directory (/Users/mehditadlaoui/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/) has permissions 40755

"allowed the "read and write" on all the folder"

Did you grant LR Full Disk Access (not Files And Folders) permission, as detailed here:

Did you try following the steps in the linked article:

Hey @tedmed, thanks for sharing the error log.
It's a permissions issue with Lightroom Classic. Please follow what @johnrellis has suggested above & let us know how it goes.

Thanks!
