Original File not found

Hello, 

I am a photo editor for photographers and I have run into issue with a gallery exchange. When I deliver the edited gallery back to the client, the client is not able to make changes to original file. This error pops up 

Photography21094.CR3” can be edited using its Smart Preview, but the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?

It is showing the original files are on my computer (which they are not since I do not have the RAW files). 

Anyone know why it is saying the originals are on my computer instead of the photographers? What can we do to fix it?

What indicates that the original file is on your computer?

It shows the previous location is on my desktop instead of the photographers and not sure why it is saying that.
