P: Lightroom randomly selects a a picture Profile.

I updated to LR Classic 15 and since then I am experiencing a few serious bugs that make it unusable. I am using Lightroom 15.0 on an M4 Pro Mac Mini, running the latest version of MacOS.

Primarily:

1. Lightroom randomly selects a a picture Profile. When in the Develop Module, if I select a Profile, such as "Camera Standard", the Profile shown in the top right will correctly show as whatever I select, as expected. However, sometimes the name of a seemingly random profile will flash up at the bottom of the screen, such as "Adobe Standard" and it is this random profile that is used to show the colours in the photo. I have even seen situations where my photo is changed to "Adobe Monochrome", when I selected a colour profile. If I then move to another photo and immediately back again, Lightroom CC seems to realise what profile should actually be selected and shows the photo correctly. I can edit several pictures correctly before I randomly get this behaviour.

2. Sharpening Masking Preview randomly stops working. After some time, the full-screen preview of the Masking slider, initiated when holding the Option key, stops working on the main view of the photo. However it still works in the small zoomed in view in the Detail panel. I have to restart Lightroom to get the functionality back again.

3. The brush on the AI Remove tool randomly stops showing. After using Lightroom to edit several photos, Lightroom will stop showing the brush to paint the area to be selected for removal. I then have no idea of the extent of the photo that will be removed. I have to restart Lightroom to get the functionality back again.

Are all 3 of your issues solved with 15.0.1 or just #1?

I will monitor over the next few days, when I have time to do more editing. But so far seems ok. Will post here when I am confident that has been resolved.

@defaultynovrsqmy403: "I just updated to 15.0.1 and also CAN NOT repeat the behaviour. In 15.0.1 the timings for showing a preview of a profile when the mouse moves into the box are much less aggressive than 15.0"

Adobe is pretty good about updating threads for acknowledged bugs when a release addresses a bug. But I'm skeptical that  15.0.1 contains an explicit fix for this bug. Adobe hasn't formally acknowledged this bug (yet). It was reported just two days ago, and normally engineers wouldn't risk slipping even an "innocuous" change that late into the release schedule.

So unless @Rikk Flohr: Photography confirms this bug was explicitly addressed by 15.0.1 (as he's doing for other bugs), I'd bet money that the race condition still exists, but some other change just happens to have changed the timings (again) to make the bug occur less frequently.

@johnrellis

As I recall there were issues reported with Masks disappearing which the OP indicated might be related to the Profile Preview issue and in their las post said the Mask seemed to be working so maybe this was related to a fix in the Masks.   Just speculating about why it appears to be working now.
