Saludos.

Each keyword has the option to add "synonym" keywords which are not separately listed or assignable in their own right, but nonetheless accompany that main keyword for export and in searches. A given keyword can be set to export its "containing" (parent) keywords even if those have not been separately assigned. Conversely, a given keyword or parent keyword can be set to "don't export".

So far as nesting of keywords, depending on what has happened there may be more than one apparently identical keyword within the overall list - e.g. one showing in the main list, and another nested inside another keyword. These are in fact separate keywords even if spelled exactly the same. In keywording view, any nesting will be clarified so that you can tell which particular instance of that keyword text is assigned. This distinction may be less obvious with 'will export' preview.

Apreciado richardpondlon,

Assuming this is because of keyword synonyms - I can't think of any other explanation:

setting the filter bar to search by keywords directly, you will not find any synonyms listed - the same, as how the keywords list works. But if you filter for that using a simple text search as below, entering this synonym keyword will isolate just those photos which would include it when exported.

Then you can highlight these. The keywording panel will show you the particular keywords these photos have ALL got in common (any keywords that only SOME of them have got, are distinguished with an asterisk), and then you can inspect those keywords to find, and delete, any unwanted synonyms.

Exporting the Keyword list can be useful to locate synonym KWs.

Export to a text file. [MENU: Metadata > Export Keywords.] Open the file in a spreadsheet app (Ms-Excel)

Synonym keywords are shown in 'curly' brackets. {Feline}

Keywords with square brackets are non-exporting. [CATS]
