Photos not importing -Lightroom 6

I'm not sure I am posting in the right spot. The online Adobe support person was not very helpful. I have Lightroom version 6. My pictures from my SD card will not import into Lightroom. When I try, it says No Photos Found. 

I also get this message when I open Lightroom -

Adobe Application Manager, required to verify your license, is missing or damaged.

Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from

http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager.

I have gotten this message for months now with no issues. I'm not tech savvy so I've just ignored it because all has continued to work until now.
