Hi

I've never had this issue but suddenly now if I am in Adobe Lightroom Classic and I click edit in Adobe Photoshop 2024, the photo goes over and I edit it to how I want and I click save, and when it goes back to Lightroom Classic it says the file is unsupported or damaged. Both apps are up to date and I haven't changed anything. How do I fix this?

File unsupported or damaged indicates the file has been corrupted somehow, or you chose the wrong save options in Photoshop. Damaged happens because of hardware malfucntion, most likely your hard disk. I don't know enough about Photoshop to know what options when you save are unsupported in LrC (if any).

"file is unsupported or damaged"- I would go with the suggestion from @dj_paige  - corrupted file.

There is a situation that will cause the corrupted badge to appear on thumbnails in LrC but the error message is different-

"Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo"

2024-02-20 07_51_28-Roberts Catalog-v13 - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic - Library.jpg

Caused by these two settings-

1) LrC is opening PSD files in Photoshop  (Set in External editing preferenes), and

2) Photoshop preferences for File Handling [Maximize PSD......Compatibility] is set to "Never"   (Should be "Always" !)

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 14.0, Photoshop 26.0, ACR 17.0, Lightroom 8.0, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 15.0.0, Windows-11.

I have the exact same problem as well. I have reinstalled lightroom and the problem persists. I really dont want to recreate the catalog but I may be trying that next.

If you read this thread, people are not saying you need to re-create the catalog or re-install LrC, which will not affect the images anyway. There are other suggestions. Either the photo file is damaged or was created in Photoshop with the wrong options, that's what you need to check for.
