Hey there,

Since yesterday out of nowhere all the pictures that I am opening in my Lightroom Classic are distorted and pink and I don't know what to do about it. The pictures down in the preview look ok, but as soon as I click on them they turn into pink. If any more details are needed in order to help me out, please let me know!

Thanks in advance,

Simon

I just found out that this problem is only occurring when I am uploading ARW files. NEF files are uploading totally fine.

Two possibilities:

  1. Bad GPU/Bad GPU Driver — what is the exact make/model of your GPU?
  2. Corrupted file, caused by hardware malfunction, could be bad camera card, bad card reader, malfunctioning hard disk

Building on dj_paige's reply, it's very possible you're tripping over a known graphics-driver bug in Mac OS. Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

An issue I notice when I look at your screenshot is the lack of anything in the Histogram:

Have you considered resetting the LrC preferences file?

I should have looked at the screenshot more carefully. The translated error message:

That means the file is missing from the location where LR thinks it should be. If you go to Library Grid view, you'll see an "!" in the upper-right corner of the thumbnail. See:
