Plug-in HDR Efex

Plug-in HDR Efexwas used once and now every time I try to export an image it is placed in HDR Efex.

How can I stop this from automatically happening?

Check there's nothing persisting in the Postprocessing section of your Export settings.

Personally I advise saving your own (user) export preset to suit your consistent need: you may need a few of these for different purposes (you can set such a preset to ask again for the saving location each time). There are some supplied standard export presets also. The idea being, to reinitialise the whole export dialog to a certain known and tested state - with no surprises holding over from your previous export.

Alternatively you can export to a given preset by name, directly in the menu.

As a side benefit these export presets allow you to export in multiple ways all in one go.
