Plugin question

I just started using Topaz Photo AI. After saving a rendered image with Photo Ai used as a plugin with Lightroom Classic, the original Nikon Raw file and the processed DNG file are moved to a new position in the catalog and the sequential number assigned to the image by Lightroom is changed. Has anyone experienced this before and does anyone know how to stop the images being moved and the sequential number changed? I'm not sure if Lightroom or Photo AI are the cause.

First issue is sorting, LrC often changes the sort order selected when returning. In this case, you went to an external editor, did whatever, then the new image was brought into LrC, and LrC was the focus again, but dang, with a different sort order (or least this has occurred on my rig)

Second issue is the sequential numbers. Those have nothing to do with an actual photo, nothing to do with sorting, nothing to do with edit order, They just number the thumbnails in the current filmstrip starting at one on the far left.
