LR Classic (latest version) on Mac 14.7.1.
Was trying to do some cleanup in Lightroom Classic today, and discovered that the LrC Sync seems to be extremely buggy. I had not been doing sync at all (paused) for many versions of LrC and wanted to start "blank". So what I did was to disable sync on the collections, delete everything in Lightroom Web (delete the images), remove the images from "All synced images" in LrC.
If I then enabled sync for one of the collection agian, I observed that it would use a lot of time, and then suddenly all pictures from the Collection was removed. The files were still there - they were just removed from the collection.
Did some more testing by creating a new collection and including some of the "old images" together with some new images that had never been synced before. The new images synced fine, but the old images would never appear in Lightroom Web or on the phone. So e.g. if I created a new collection with 10 images, where 6 were old (previously synced - but deleted from LR Web) and 4 were new, the sync would take a long time, and then suddenly only 4 images were left in the collection (and showing in LR Web), but the 6 previously synced images were not on the web and also the collection only had 4 images left.
So it was basically impossible to sync any of the previously synced images. So what I did was to use the hidden button ("Rebuild sync data") in LrC Preferences. That would restart LrC and then I was suddenly able to resync these previous images again. But if I repeated the procedure of disable syncing of the collection, and delete the images from LR Web, it would normally be an issue again.
This can be recreated by the following procedure:
1. Make sure sync is on
2. Disable syncing of a collection
3. Go to LR Web and delete the images that are left there (stopping sync will not delete photos in cloud, just the album)
4. Also delete from "Deleted folder".
5. Observe that "All Synced Images" will after some time (you might need to click it) reduce the number with the same amount of photos deleted from cloud (in my case reverted to 0).
6. Before you start testing again - please duplicate collection to avoid loosing it!
7. Enable syncing of the collection
8. Observe that syncing takes a long long time. Sync activity in preferences shows that it is uploading, observe that LR Web is not receiving any photos - just the empty album.
9. After a long time, all photos will be removed from that collection - if it ever finishes at all
You might need to try a couple of times to trigger the bug.
Any ideas on what causing this? Could it be some delays when I delete the photos directly in cloud, so that when I start syncing again, the delete process is really not finished in LR Cloud and this causes these issues?

I discovered that the collections were connected to some pages in Adobe Portfolio. Tried deleting those connections and the sync seems more stable now.
