Psd files wont open in Photoshop from Lightroom Classic 13

Since the new release of Photoshop and Lightroom I have had issues trying to open files from Lightroom to Photoshop. I can open the raw images into photoshop just fine. When I save the file with layers as a PSD file close it and come back to it it wont open when I click Edit>Edit in Photoshop - Edit Original. All it does is say "writing to metadata" in the upper progress bar and then nothing. It will open in photoshop if I click "Edit a Copy".

Right now my work around is edit in Lightroom and if I need to edit the PSD files I have to find them in Bridge and open it that way.

I am assuming that this is just a bug with this version. I reverted back to the last version and it didn't do this.

I am running Windows 11 on an intel i7 9th gen, an Nvidia 1070i graphics card, m.2NVME ssd, and Synology backup hhd

Thanks in advance for any help on fixing this issue.

This problem has gotten better for me. If you are having similar issues here are some of the things I started doing. At first I couldn't get any PSD files to open from Lightroom. Restarting the computer helped so that would be my first recommendation. But somehow I keep getting exclaimation marks on the images saying that the image was edited outside of Lightroom. They just keep popping up spontaneously. I am assuming from my increase use of Bridge.
But I got into the habit of hitting Ctrl+S to save the metadata to file and then Ctrl+E to edit. It sucks that I have to do this with every photo that I want to open in Lightroom and I can't open multiple images without going through saving metadata on everyone but at least I can open them now.
