"Edit in Photoshop 2025" freezes Lightroom Classic when trying to edit a .tif file

Not sure why but out of nowhere when I right click on a .tif file in Lightroom Classic and goto Edit in > Edit in Photoshop 2025, Lightroom Classic becomes unresponsive to the point I have to force quit.  I can use the edit in photoshop for .ARW and .DNG files with no issue.  But when I try to edit a .tif, Photoshop does not open and Lightroom becomes unresponsive.

The weird thing is that I have been using the "Edit in photoshop 2025" feature for .tif files regularly in my workflow, and it was working fine yesterday and then out of nowhere later in the evening it stopped working.

Both Lightroom and Photoshop are updated. Lightroom Classic version 14.1.1.  Photoshop 2025 version 26.2

I tried:

restarting both lightroom and the PC

checked file and folder permissions

disabling plugins

testing .tif files in a new catalog

checked my file handling settings and external editing settings

cleared cache in Lightroom

disabling GPU acceleration as well as making sure my GPU was updated

Reinstalled Lightroom

I am using Windows 11, screenshot of system specs are attached

Have you considered resetting the LrC preferences file. Is it corrupt?

This worked!  Resetting the preferences fixed it so it may have been currupt. Thank you so much 🙏

Did you happen to keep your old Preference file? The team would like a look at it.
