Configuration :
Hi everyone,
For some time now, I think it's been since Lightroom 2025, I've been having problems with Lightroom...
I've tried to check with the after-sales service, but the changes we've made don't seem to be working in the long term:
- Cache increased to 50GB
- Cache on my D drive with more space instead of C.
Basically, the more my retouching progresses, the more my Lightroom slows down... But the biggest problem is that exporting is extremely slow... 1h30/2h for an export of 450 images, which used to take 30min maximum... The other day it took almost 12 hours to export 1900 photos.
Another problem is that the more my retouching progresses, the more my hard disk, where the cache is located, empties... I can empty a hard disk to 100% on large retouching series. I have to quit Lightroom, wait 2 minutes and restart it to find the space on the disk.
My drivers are up to date, I have the configuration recommended by Adobe.
As far as the catalogue is concerned, to optimise it and because I do large shoots, I delete them as soon as the photos are delivered to the client, so I have a new catalogue for each new shoot.
Configuration:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, 8GB GDDR6
13th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13650HX (24 MB cache, 14 core, up to 4.90 GHz)
16GB Ram
HD 1TB partitioned on C at 195GB and D at 732GB
I've tried everything, exporting without cloud creatives or with them, switching performance to forced or automatic GPU...etc
In sports photography I have to deliver very quickly, so it's rather annoying...
Thanks for your help.

Hi, thanks for reaching out, and we're sorry about the trouble!
Looks like you've tried a few steps already to optimize the preferences of Lightroom Classic. Can you check out the other steps suggested here: https://adobe.ly/3Gh0vnc
Also, if the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Lightroom using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/432Qt0T
Thanks,
Nikunj

Hi, there,
So this morning I increased my C drive by 100 GB
I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom
I checked that my PC was up to date.
But still the same problem.
In 15 minutes, it only extracted 55 photos in reduced size (3900MB)
I just have Firefox open with a tab with SwissTransfer.
Thanks for your help.

I can't change my 1st sentence, but I wanted to say that I'm extracting photos while I'm sending the system information from Lightroom.

I see you do have GPU support for Export activated?
What if you try to deactivate, or activate if you have it currently deactivated?

I've tried automatic mode, forced mode, etc. but there's no change in export performance.
Some time ago when I launched an export, I could hear the computer increasing the power of the fans, but now when I launch an export, it seems that my computer is always at rest, I don't have the impression that it's exporting at maximum performance.
Even my old computer was faster even though it was an office computer in terms of configuration.
I get the impression that it's not at peak performance, that it's like being held back.
Thanks

If you look at the performance tab in the task manager. Do you see activity at CPU, GPU and disk, possibly maxed out at one or the other?

Processor between 10 and 45%
Memory 70%
Disk 3%
Since 11:45 am this morning, only 366 photos have been extracted at 3900MB, and it's now 1:40 pm...

The problem is still there after the manipulation, thank you.
As I said above, the GPU doesn't seem to be in use.

I restarted by forcing the GPU, same problem, it doesn't go up very much if at all.
Maybe that's where the problem lies ?

I usually recommend using the latest drivers from Nvidia, which is what you have installed already.
However, as I don't have any further recommendation from LrC perspective, you could try using the previous version, by a small chance ...

The after-sales service has just got hold of my computer and looked at it, and carried out a few manipulations to test it. We'll see how it goes.
Thanks for your help in any case, I hope it'll be sorted out soon, I've got a big month of May ahead of me in terms of photography.
Thanks
