Rename a folder = Loss of the link of the photos with the source file

In LrC 10.2,  each time I rename a folder that contains photos :
- All the photos it contains lose the link with the source file.
- If I search for the source file, LrC tells me that the file is already associated with another photo in the catalog. It's not true.
- If I run a catalog optimization, the fault is still there.
- If I close LrC with the catalog integrity test and its optimization, when I reopen LrC, the photos have found their source file.

My catalog contains 100,000 photos and LrC is constantly heating my processor.
However, I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core i9 8-core, 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4, Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB.

I feel that my catalog is not in very good condition, but what should I do?

Thanks for your help.

This has been reported a number of times. It is a bug that Adobe cannot replicate.

Are you using Lightroom to rename the folders?

I can confirm that it happens to me as well.

after renaming a folder iLrC displays a ? mark. then I have to wait for a while and after some time LrC is ok again.

or

I close it and reopen LrC to be able to work on the photos faster.

then all is ock again.

I have 340'000 images in LrC catalog.

maybe this slows it down.

I think this is irrelevant. It has been reported, they have been try to reproduce it.

To build on dj_paige's reply, here is the bug report that Adobe has been investigating:

https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/lightroom-classic/lightroom-classic-loses-connection-wi...

Please add details of your symptoms to the bug report, and be sure to click Like and Follow at the bottom of the first post. That will make it a little more likely that Adobe will prioritize a fix, and you'll be notified when the bug's status changes. Product developers rarely participate in this forum and won't see your feedback.

This also happens to me after renaming a folder within LRC.  All files are marked missing, though interestingly I can click on the option "Show in finder" and it will take me directly to the file.  If I close and reopen Lightrooom, the files are reassociated.
