I have lost the titles and captions from one folder in my current catalog. I cannot restore the whole catalog as it would lose more recent editing. Is there a step by step process specifically for extracting a single folder from an earlier catalog?
thanks,
Adrian
Yes. The procedure would be-
1) Open the 'old' catalog (from a Backup)
2) Select the 'sub-folder' that is problematic
3) [Right-Click] on the folder and [Export this Folder as a Catalog] "Temp"
4) Close the 'Old' backup catalog
5) Open your current working catalog
6) Menu: File > Import from another Catalog. (Select the "Temp" catalog)
7) Set options to-

In the old catalogue, right click the folder and choose Export as Catalog, creating a small temporary catalogue. Then in your current catalogue, do a File > Import from Another Catalog, and import the temporary catalogue.

As @john beardsworth says! And Victoria Bamptom has a blog article with more details-
RESTORE PARTIAL from backup catalog?

Thanks Gentlemen,
I have now determined that not all data in the catalog was compromised, ie, only in some sub-folders within the folder. Can I follow the same path you have provided, except to just import the sub-folder?
Once again, thank you.
Adrian
