Right Arrow not advancing in Develop module

Using LR Classic 14.1.1 on MacBook Pro 15.1.1 with 64 GB sometime in the last couple of updates I noticed two things.
Frirst the Right arrow (orCtrl R arrow ) does not work to advance in the Develop module. The film strip advances but the full screen display does not.
Second, the full image had not been updated with the prior edits.
Once I went back to Library and advanced the images, THEN opened the Develop module often the edit history would not be applied or there was a noticeable lag - the original raw image displaying and then the edits would be applied.
A good percentage of the time, I would have to go back and click on the history to update the image in the Develop module.
Once the edits were applied from the history, the right and left arrows worked in the develop module.
It may be that the R & L arrow problem in the Develop module is due to a disconnect in finding and applying the edit history.
I worked with Adobe support and nothing they did fixed the situation.

We don't have access to Adobe cases here and so don't know what you might have tried. Some next steps:
- In the past, the symptoms you describe have often been addressed by resetting preferences:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/
LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.
- If you make a new test catalog and import several dozen photos into it (use the Add option to avoid copying them), does the problem occur in the test catalog?

I did the preferences reset with the Adobe Help person but will try a test catalog later today when I return from appointment.

The Testcatalog worked fine after adding 300 images and that got me thinking.
So I've gone back and started rendering new previews (Lightroom>Prevews) in the wonky catalog and that seemed to have cured all the Right Arrow problems.
Thanks for the help.

Nope.
It didn't work universally.

Hi @LittleLew!
When you're using the arrow keys to move through the filmstrip, do you have a subtab open, like the Remove or Masking subtabs?

Nope.
2 hours with support handling my Mac and it still doesn't work correctly.

Hi @LittleLew!
I'm sorry we haven't been able to resolve the issues yet. You mentioned it started a couple of updates ago. Do you recall exactly when the problems began? Which Lightroom Classic update was it, or did you make any other changes like updating your operating system?
Could you also share your System Info? You can find it under Help > System Info. Just copy the info to a text file and attach it to your response.
Thank you for your patience!

Hey @LittleLew!
Thanks a bunch for sharing your system specs! Could you also share the System Info as it appears in Lightroom Classic? You can find it under Help > System Info in the app. That's helpful for us to understand how Lightroom is using your machine's resources.
Also, could you give the solutions listed here a try to optimize Lightroom performance?
Thanks so much!
Alek

@LittleLew , I have checked and the latest version of macOS is now 15.3.
I there any reason you you have not updated from macOS version 15.1.1 ?

When I was 'forced' to switch to Mac, I gave up trying to fight Apple's
insistence on making things too obscure for a normal person.
