I have been using LR on a secondary computer (laptop) as well as my main (iMac) computer for over a year now but suddenly it will not load on the laptop, even though I have closed it on the iMac. The message I'm getting is to start 7 days free trial. Is there an obvious reason for this, and what can I do to fix it?

Try logging out of your creative cloud application, then log back in. Also, I am pretty sure you are using Lightroom, not Lightroom Classic? Can you confirm that? I will move your post to correct forum.
