Select any image in the filmstrip and it takes 30-45 seconds

I hoped to see an update of LR Classic because the performance is so bad. Culling is nearly impossible. I can select any image in the filmstrip and it takes 30-45 seconds before the image shows up. The same with inserting development setting (synchronizing in development) or even setting star rating. I don't know what happend since the latest release? It's just a small catalog of around 4000 images.

Am I the only one having performance problems?

I have the same Mac as you, and I have no performance problems like that at all with a 200,000+ catalog. The only suggestion I have is to turn off 'Automatically write changes to XMP' is that is turned on right now.

I, too, am experiencing performance problems. Very slow response times occur when deleting images, setting ratings, editing in the Develop module. LRC used to operate smoothly, but recent updates seem to be problematic. I'm running on an iMac with an up to date system.

@daerp

Please share your System Info. This can be obtained using LrC Help > System Info menu item. Use the Copy button at top right corner of the dialog to capture the info, then paste into your next forum post

It would also be helpful if you could provide details on the number of photos in your catalog along with the amount of spare space on the drive used for your catalog and photos.
