Shifting a folder from within LR has deleted the entire folder!?

Please, please help!

I've dragged a folder from one drive to another from within the Lightroom library, as I have done many times before, but the source folder is empty and the destination drive folder has not received it. All I ahve is it showing in the LR library as a mising folder? 🙈😡 I really don't want to have lost over a day of editing work on client images. Also this is the correct way to shift our folders is it not?
