Showing high resolution images on a 4k TV

What is the best way to show high resolution images on a 4k TV, either using a laptop with LR Classic via HDMI or Lightroom Mobile via HDMI. My understanding is that the standard previews on LR Mobile are less than 4k. So is there any way I can get either LR Classic or LR Mobile to output full resolution to my TV? Or is the only way to export full rez jpegs and run them through a photo viewer on the laptop? Thanks

It will work just fine from Classic itself. Lightroom Classic will generate the appropriate previews for your display size. There is a preference in Catalog settings where you can set the default preview size. Also if you want to make sure it doesn't take long between images when browsing, generate 1:1 previews in advance.

If you sync images from Lightroom Classic to Lightroom mobile, then you'll sync smart previews, which are 2560 pixels at the longest side. That is clearly less than 4K resolution, so if your images originate in Lightroom Classic them use Lightroom Classic to display them on that 4K television.
