Very Longtime LRC user with over 80,000 images in catalog running on Mac Studio M1 Max and Sequoia 15.3.2. and since ver 14 I have to quit Lightroom for some functions like Denoise to Work. Funnily Denoise will work while LRC is importing a large number of images but as soon as it finishes import it stops working

I’ve not tried de-noising. Since v14 on my Mini M1 I’ve had other issues.
Main one is catalog losing connection with imported files. My import does a
DNG conversion, then builds smart previews. Each image then has an
exclamation icon at top right corner. Clicking on it, it says it can’t find
the DNG file it has just imported. I get a similar message if I forget and
go straight to exporting. Rather than rebuilding each connection, I just
restart Lightroom and it’s fine.

Hi @paul_2023 and @davidminehart, Let's try to figure this out! First, let's troubleshoot this issue and see if we can fix it.

  1. Update Software: Ensure that both Lightroom Classic and the operating system are updated to their latest versions. Sometimes, updates include bug fixes that can resolve such issues.

  2. Reset Preferences: Try resetting the preferences in Lightroom Classic. This can often resolve unexpected behavior. Hold down the Shift + Option keys (Mac) while launching Lightroom Classic and select "Reset Preferences" when prompted to reset preferences.

  3. Reinstall Lightroom Classic: If the issue persists, consider uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom Classic to ensure a clean installation.

  4. Optimize Catalog: With a large catalog of over 80,000 images, optimizing the catalog can improve performance and potentially resolve issues. Go to File > Optimize Catalog in Lightroom Classic.

  5. Clear Cache: Clear the cache in Lightroom Classic. This can help resolve issues related to file handling and display. Go to Preferences > Performance and click on Purge Cache.

If none of these steps work for you, please provide screenshots and a screen recording of the issue, and we can try to help further diagnose the issue. Thanks! ^CH
