I do real estate editing exclsuively. Recently, the "select sky" tool in LR Classic 14.2 is not working. When I select sky and apply an edit and then synch the sky edit to additional files the sky frequently reverts to its originall state. It seems to be getting worse. Today it started reverting those edits when exposrting to PS, which never happened before. It has also started negating remove tool edits now. Anybody else have this issue? I have uninstalled/reinstalled
Building on drtonyb's reply, you can select a batch of photos in Library and do the menu command Photo > Develop Settings > Update AI Settings. That command will quickly skip over photos that don't have AI masks or removes that need updating.
Thanks, I will try this. I do want to stress that I have been using the sky mask tool and using synch to copy the mask for months and never had a problem before. Now, the skies just revert over and over.
The sync copies the parameters of the mask to the target photos, but the mask still has to be recomputed for each target photo. Normally, copy/sync recomputes the mask (and puts up a progress dialog showing you that), but sometimes it doesn't.
If after doing Update AI Settings, you see the red dots reappear and you need to recompute the masks a second time, then come back here. Infrequently, the part of the catalog that stores computed masks gets corrupted.
Hi John... I have tried synching in Develop and then going back to Library and doing Photo > Develop Settings > Update AI Settings. This may be working? This isuue is very, very unfortunate, becuase it not only makes me play whack-a-mole within in LR, but the masks are sometimes vaporizing during export to PS and (one time, starting today) on EXPORT/SAVE.
