I have had this problem and so applied the latest software updates, as apparently one of the fixes in LRC v11.2 was for this issue.  The updated software did not fixed the issue, even after restarting my computer.

Macbook Pro (x86) : OS Monterey v12.1
LR Classic v11.2 (202201281441-a5b5f472)
Audition v22.2 (22.2.0.61)
Media Encoder v22.2 (Build 64)

Steps
1) Using either Audition or Media Encoder, create an .mp3 file from a .wav file.
2) Add the .mp3 file to the slideshow music selection.

Expected result: .mp3 music added to the slideshow playback
Actual result: Error message 'The music file is not well formed'. (1)

Finally, after contacting customer support, the issue has been resolved.

The file and folder permissions for LRC had become corrupted or changed.

The fix was to go to the Mac 'System Preferences\Security & Privacy' and under the 'Privacy' tab find 'Files and Folders' in the scroll menu. Then check that 'Adobe Lightroom Classic' has access to the necessary and appropriate folders; Removable Volumes, Downloads Folder, Documents Folder and Desktop Folder.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about. Thanks for reporting the issue.

1. Is it happening will all the music files or one of the samples?
2. If you don't mind could you please share the MP3 file with us? We would test it from our end.

It is happening with several files, so not just one or small set of files. Every .wav file I have put through Audition or Media Encode, to create an .mp3 file has failed.

As for sharing files, I cannot share the music as it is licenced, however I can share a sample of one of my recordings of birdsong for the purpose of investigating the issue. This also failed in LRC with the same error when attaching the music to a slideshow.
I have attached an .mp3 file created in Audition.

Has this been investigated, or has been assigned to someone to be investigated?

What is the update for the status?

I have updated my computer to the latest version Macbook Pro (x86) : OS Monterey v12.2.1
The problem still happens, and cannot attach music (mp3) to a slideshow.

It would be interesting to hear if Adobe were actually investigating this issue for x86 based computers.

Some acknowledgement that the requested .mp3 file had been received would have been welcomed, but I have not even received that.

Also this was reported as a bug to Adobe, but has been moved to discussions.

This is a bug, and should be redesignated as such until fixed.
