Check that Lightroom Classic still has full disk access. A MacOS update can sometimes reset this.

Full Disk Access is absolutely mandatory. Reboot your computer if you did not do that already. If Lightroom Classic still can't open your catalog, then there must be another reason for that. First try resetting the preferences: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/ If that does not solve it, then try if Lightroom works with a new catalog (hold down the Cmd key while starting Lightroom).

thank you again, BUT nothing.

when i close LrC "quit Lightroom" it close but than open up again, with the rainbow gear, and i have to force quit to close it completely. Due that Lightroom on my Mac is usign an external disk, the disk keep running until i stop by forcing it.

I uninstalled and reinstalled LrC, nothing.

I've tried to optimize catalog, no way, stays like ages without doing anything.

Seems after the Sonoma update there's something missing between LrC and reading external disk.

I've tried with permission full access disk, nothing.

I don't understand what is goign on.

Are you running any antivirus software? That can very badly interfere and is usually a very bad idea on Mac OS. Could also be a failing external hard disk.

Thank you for your help, no antivirus but I start thinking that the disk probably wants to take a "break"... and it's the worst news ever...
