Hi, I want to switch from Lightroom CC to Classic. I've checked howtos and they all state there are roughly two methods : export originals from CC and import from Classic (this way you keep keywords but not collections) or sync a new library from Classic (this way you loose keywords but you keep collections) and "people" get lost in any case. I need to keep my collections so I did :
After a few minutes, pictures start populating the Classic library, which is encouraging at this point. However, after a bit more than 1000 pictures, no more picture is added, while the sync pannel on the top right continues to show an increasing number. After hours, when close to the end (1000 pictures ahead), the process gets stucked (no picture added, and the number stucked). I've tried 2 times and it is very irritating.
What can I do ?
I think that I have found the solution so let me put it here for future readers.
On the sync settings window, the bottom part was empty. But after I've let this window quite e long time, information did appear and I could check the synchronisation status. There was an error which probably did forbid the process to continue.

I have contacted the support by chat. After a few exchanges (with screenshots), they quit the conversation without notice. They quit after I post screen captures where we see a large number of so called "synchronised" files while there are only few picrures in the library, not inc reasing. So support does not help and just quits the conversation. And it is very very irritating.

In my case, I had different CC albums with the same name but in different folders. So I've renamed the corresponding albums (click on the error to open in LR Web). I've actually moved all my albums to the root, without nesting anything, so as to make sure that I don't have the same issue one more time.
I've started with a new catalog (again) and it now goes beyond the first 1026 pictures. I hope that it will work.
Whatever the outcome of the issue, I find totally irrespectfull the behaviour of Adobe support team, by closing chats without telling before, when they understand that it will require a bit of thinking and knowledge. Shame on Adobe for customer support.
