Running Mac OS Sonoma 14.1, Lightroom Classic 13.0.1
Hi. Recently I'm encountering an error when importing jpeg images into Lightroom Classic from iPhotos, my download folder and from iMessage. This is what I see in Lightroom upon importing...
This is the error message...
This is happening regularly all of a sudden. In the example above there was an import of 4 jpegs all from the same source. Only one came across as an image I can see.
Does anyone have an idea of why this is happening?
Thank you in advance for any help with this.

Hi. Thank you for your reply.
I'm trying to respond further but I am running into difficulties. I have some error messages concerning this topic and I cannot get them to load. I drag and drop these error message jpgs in the box below here and they do not appear. I tried browsing for the files and could not get them to attach as well.
Do you or someone have any advice concerning this.
Thank you for any help you may have.

//Edit/Ok, I am making a point you already know, my bad.//
When posting images, such as screenshots of error message, please use the Insert Photo Button. Not the attachment option. If you have a large document, or a PDF file, perhaps a crash report, then use the attachment option. Note that none of this works in the e-mail or messenger options in this community.

Hi. I am still having difficulty importing jpegs on my Mac Mini M2 Pro running Mac OS Sonoma 14.1 into Lightroom Classic 13.0.1. These are the images I am trying to import.
They are in a folder in my Pictures folder. When I attempt to import them into Lightroom this is what I see of these images in the Import window
We I go ahead and attempt the import they appear like this
When I double click on the images in the Finder they display correctly in Preview. This is a new problem for me because I have previously imported images on this computer into Lightroom with no problem.
Some weeks ago after updating Lightroom I was unable to open the program. I searched for help on this Forum and no one was able to resolve the issue. It was only after spending several hours on the phone with Adobe that the 3rd person I spoke with was finally able to get the updated version of Lightroom to instal on my Mini Mac. Apparently the M2 chip was part of the problem.
Does anyone here have a solution to this issue?
Thank you for any help with this.

I am wondering about how you are importing, an if something within your process is fouled up.
First up:
As these are JPEG images, not RAW, and as such easily visible in MACOS Finder, what occurs, outside of LrC, when you use Finder to copy the photos from your iPhone to your MAC? I do not mean what happens in LrC, just what happens in Finder?
In your most recent screenshots, was that exactly what you were showing in the first one?
Followup question. On the iPhone, we're these JPEG, or were they HEIC images?

Your question has made me re-examine my work flow with reguard to the images I am having difficulty importing. I am presently so confused by what is going on I realize I need to go back and get a clear idea of what is going on.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me with this.
If I continue to have importing difficulties I will post when I am certain of my work flow.

Hi. I am using Lightroom Classic 13.0.1 on a Mac Mini M2 Pro running Mac OS Sonoma 14.1.
My question now is how do I import HEIC images into Lightroom? These images are coming to me via iMessage. So my question specificaly is how do I import these HEIC images from iMessage into Lightroom Classic?
I've gone around and around trying to find a way that is straight forward and while I can do it it is a very clunky process.
I'm wondering what is the best method. I've looked here on the forum but have not yet run across the method. It is probably here somewhere but I cannot find it.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

see:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/kb/heic-files-support.html
although the source being iMessage might be problematic.
Note that HEIC from anything other than an iPhone is currently sketchy, for example HEIC from my Fuji X-T5 is a no go. (Ok, I have not tested that in v13) In that case I have to convert before importing (and I was just experimenting, so not worth my trouble to play with HEIC, especially as I am mostly RAW)

Thank you for this. I feel I am getting much closer to figuring this out. But I have no idea where the Open Preferences Dialog button
in the Camera Raw dialog box is.

Further information. When can take a screenshot of the image in Preview with Evernote's Skitch and export it as a 'jpg' into the same folder holding the original image it appears in this folder as a jpeg. When I then attempt to import this exported image into Lightroom it will successfully import and display correctly.
