Tethered on sony a7m3

Hi all, I have noticed that it is almost inpossible to shoot tethered on lightroom via my sony a7m3.

I need to install a app (created by sony) to direct my images from there towards lightroom.

this creates alot of bugs and frustration..... when it works it's very slow and keeps on popping open new windows in lightroom because the pictures are from a extern app.

Does anyone know when lightroom makes my precious sony a7m3 detectable for tethered shooting....

Because I really don't feel like switching over to capture one but that sadly looks like the only way out for now...

Thanks for reading ❤️

"keeps on popping open new windows in lightroom because the pictures are from a extern app."

Are you using Sony's Imaging Edge program to thether and then configuring LR's File > Auto Import?  And by "popping open new windows in Lightroom", do you mean that LR changes the current source to Previous Import whenever it auto-imports a photo?

If so, then uncheck the option Preferences > General > Select The "Current/Previous Import" Collection During Import.

Over the years, many have asked for LR to support tethering of Sony cameras.  Unlike Canon and Nikon, Sony doesn't make a tethering SDK publicly available (for a number of years they provided a wireless tethering SDK but withdrew support for it a couple years ago).   Adobe and Sony haven't formed any kind of partnership to implement tethering, as apparently Capture One has.

You could add your feedback to this topic in the official Adobe feedback forum:

Who knows, Adobe might implement it at some point (they just implemented PSB support after many, many requests over ten years).

Just switched from Canon to Sony and recognized that problem. I am absolutely frustrated and angry, which actually is a pretty nice word for how I really feel about that fact. So the company behind Smart Shooter 4 is able to make a deal with sony but big Adobe can't? That is just ridiculous and absolutely embarassing for adobe users. Sorry for not making constructive inputs.
