Hi,
I'm running Lightroom Classic 12.1 on Mac OS Ventura 13.01.1. We mainly shoot in the studio, with a wifi connection and tethering works fine.
We've been on location and tried tethering but the camera won't tether. I tried a hotspot connection, it wouldn't tether either. Lightroom has failed to tether on 2 different occasions at 2 different locations.
I've test tethered this in the studio using 1. no wifi connection 2. a phone hotspot connection 3. wifi connection. With method 3 the camera tethers within seconds, with 1 and 2 the camera fails to tether.
Are there any solutions?

What camera? Also based on what you're describing, surely a phone hotspot has an internet connection? Not that I believe that you need a connection to run tether-though you do occasionaly to confirm your subscription.

Hi Sean,
A Nikon D610. With regard to the phone hotspot, they were my thoughts exactly, an internet connection. I have a monthly subscription to CC and use Lightroom pretty much every day. This is why I can't figure out the issue.

Not being able to tether of Nikon cameras when using macOS Ventura is listed as a 'Known Issue'. You can read more at

Thank you for the links. I wasn't aware of the known issues. As I said initially, tethering only fails when away from the studio, it tethers the majority of the time. Either way, we'll wait for a fix to see if that solves it. Thank you all for the feedback.
