The Fujifilm RAW disaster

New Here ,
Jun 07, 2021 Jun 07, 2021

The "Enhancement Details" is not a useful solution for those of us who use Fujifilm cameras and their X-TRANS sensors. Will there be full support for these sensors in the next Lightroom release (s)? The competing software works them (the X-TRANS) like any RAW, Adobe should be able to do it the same or better.

We are not Adobe here, we are other Lightroom Classic users. We don't know Adobe's future plans, and furthermore, Adobe never announces new features in advance.

Perhaps you should go to the Feature Request area at https://feedback.photoshop.com/topics/lightroom-classic/5f5f2093785c1f1e6cc40872 and find threads where this feature has been suggested and add your comments there.

In terms of what may be coming from Adobe: Those who know don’t talk. Those who talk don't know.

How is this still a problem in 2023?? I've been watching numerous YouTube videos on this issue and finally tried Capture One for myself, and it's unbelievable how much worse Lightroom's interpretation of the Fujifilm raw files are. I used to think my Canon just made better images, but now I can actually see that it's actually primarily Lightroom that was decreasing the quality of my Fujifilm images. Does anyone from Adobe even realize this is an issue? Are they just oblivious or do they just not care about Fujifilm because they're not as big as Canon or Sony?

@DdeGannes Using version 12.1, which my Creative Cloud app says is "up-to-date". Running on a 2016 15" MBP, macOS 12.6.2.

From Adobe (community forums):

"Currently, the community on community.adobe.com is used as a destination for customers to ask questions and engage in peer-to-peer conversations. IOW, this is a user-to-user support forum. The Adobe Support Community is a place to ask questions, find answers, learn from experts, and share your knowledge. Because we are a community used by people of all ages, cultures, and people at work, we carefully moderate its content".

If you have problems or need answers from other users who volunteer their time to help, do so in a discussion topic and message body, whereby you post specifics (what's the problem or issue, or the question) and provide some information about your operating system, version of the software you're asking about and steps to illustrate your problem.

If you want Adobe to be viewing what you post, there are two ways based on what you are hoping to report:

If you wish to report what you believe is a bug, you do so by following these guidelines:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/how-do-i-write-a-bug-report/idc-p/12932310#M...

If you wish to provide a feature request, you do so by following these guidelines (then make a request in the product forum):

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-ideas/how-do-i-write-a-feature-request/idi-p/123863...

@TheDigitalDog Thanks for the clarification. Less of a complaint directed at Adobe and more just a general complaint in hopes that people had a solution or knew of any upcoming updates from Adobe. Although I'm a little confused, because I have seen what appear to be Adobe employees comment on things in these community threads?

Bug reports and feature request posts are flagged and viewed by some Adobe employees. Otherwise not necessarily nor by design.
