Tiff image appears in Library Panel, but it is not added to the catalog.

Explorer ,

System Windows Home 11 (all updates installed)
Lightroom Classic 14.2
Issue:
Every JPG image that I try to save as Tiff using Topaz Software, NIK Software or Saving As... Tiff from Photo Shop the Tiff image appears at the LRC Library Module but it is not saved into the LRC Catalog. It only happens when I use a JPG image as a source. Always appears as a missing image.
The issue only happens with JPG images as originals, I did try with CR3 and PSD and does not happen.

Hey, @hectorfgerena. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more information, like screenshots or video recordings of what you see, to help you figure this out. Please share the system information from Lightroom Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

You can monitor the 'All Images' tab in Lightroom's Library Module & check if the number grows. Also, check the sort filter user in Lightroom's grid view; the last modified images may appear at the bottom of the list.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Hi, I have the following situation.
System - Windows Home 11 (updated)
LRC 14.2
PS 26.4.1
If I choose a JPG image in LRC to be edited in PS with Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments and then if I save that image in PS a TIFF image when I close PS and return to LRC I can see the TIFF image in the Library Module, but the image it's not added to the catalog. When I do a synchronize folder, the image appears missing.
I did this on another PC and it does not happen.
I uninstalled LRC completely and installed it again, but the same problem continues.
Could it be a catalog problem? I don't know because the Optimize Catalog does not show any problem message.
This issue only happens with the JPG images and save them as TIFF.

That statement confuses me. the resultant image is in the library but it is not in the catalog??  What are your referring  to as the Library? Tyically in LrC, the library refers to the path to where the catalog is stored, or to the library module, wher you can see the images contained in the catalog (database)

Perhaps you mean you can see the resultant images in the folders on your hard drive via Windows File Explorer? As opposed to the Folders panel in LrC?

I just want to add that saving tiff images from jpg images it is not part of my workflow, I never do that. I step into this problem when I was using Topaz GigaPixel to enhance old B&W JPG images. I even open a case with Topaz but they told me it is not them. Then when I realized that the issue is when I save a tiff image from a jpg image I decide to do a test in PS. And the problem also happens when I use PS. I also want to mention that unistalled all my Topaz Software and repeate the test and the result was the same.

The problem it's not related with the External Editing preferences. I already pass that point.

Also, when you are finished in PS, do you select Save, Save As, or Close?

If you select Save, or Close, then the resultant image should get added to the LrC catalog and show up with no issue, if you selected Save As, then it will not.
