Some Canon EOS R5 M2 raws imported into a LR 14.1.1 catalog acquire a pink cast when the catalog is opened in 14.2, and the default As Shot Tint changes in 14.2. To reproduce with LR 14.1.1 and 14.2 / Mac OS 15.2:

0. In LR 14.1.1, verify that Preferences > Presets > Raw Defaults is set to Global: Adobe Default and there are no camera overrides.

1. Download and open this catalog in LR 14.1.1. It contains two raws from a Canon EOS R5 M2:

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/li67cc9uswth22wyitsox/tint.14.1.1.2025-02-19.zip?rlkey=037kh2wf6sdatm...

2. Open _U6A4519.CR3 in Develop. Observe that it has WB: As Shot, Temp: 5,950 Tint: +29.

3. Click Reset and observe no change to the photo or the WB settings:

4. Exit LR and re-open that catalog in LR 14.2. Observe that the buildings now have a pink cast, but the WB settings remain unchanged:

5. Click Reset and observe that the pink cast has disappeared and that Tint has changed from +29 to +4:

I am logging a ticket for the Classic Team to investigate. I am curious if Camera Raw has the same issue with these files?

Hello,

I worked on a series of photos with lightroom classic version 14.1.1 and CameraRaw 17.1.

Everything was fine, until I updated Lightroom to version 14.2 and CameraRaw to version 17.2.

After this update, when I looked at all my photos again, the tint had changed, all of them had turned magenta for some reason.

I looked at other photos in my catalog, and it was the same.

This is very problematic, as it affects the rendering of all the photos in my catalog.

Does anyone have the same problem?

Thanks in advance

Is this problem in both the Library module and the Develop Module?

If it is just the library module, would check the monitor profile. https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-change-my-monitor-profile-to-check-whether-its-corrupted/

Hello,

the problem is present in the library module and lightroom

I've tried it on two different computers, and the problem is the same.

I went back to the previous version 14.1.1 and my images have regained their normal tint.

Hello,

I didn't change the monitor profile, because I have a calibrated Eizo monitor, and the LUT is directly in the monitor, not in the system settings.

If the monitor profile was a problem, I don't see why going back to the previous version of lightroom would solve the problem, which is the case.

1. Definitely try the diagnostic step of temporarily setting the display profile to sRGB, as described in the link dj_paige posted.

2. Another diagnostic step: Set Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off, restart LR, and then view images at 100% in both Library Loupe and in Develop. Do you see the tint in Library Loupe? In Develop?

* * *

"If the monitor profile was a problem, I don't see why going back to the previous version of lightroom would solve the problem"

LR's code is continually changing, and one possibility is that there's an issue with the display profile that LR 14.2 trips over but 14.1.1 does not. If you don't see a tint in the diagnostic step, then we can drill into this further (Eizo calibration settings and the ICC version).

"I have a calibrated Eizo monitor, and the LUT is directly in the monitor, not in the system settings."

The Eizo calibration produces an ICC display profile that contains calibration parameters, which could be either a matrix or a LUT or both, and a LUT to be loaded into the display. It is this display profile that might be a proximate cause of the issue.

Hello,

I've tried the different steps, and it doesn't work

I see a difference in the shades in the development module but not in the library. If I slightly modify the parameters in the development module, I see the tint problem also in the library module.

To go further, I imported the same raw into lightroom 14.1.1 and 14.2.

The photo rendering is more or less the same on both versions of lightroom, but the temperature/hue settings are not the same.

on 14.1.1 the temperature/tone pair is 6050/27
on 14.2 the temperature/tone pair is 6100/2

I have the impression that there's a discrepancy between the two versions.

As a next troubleshooting step, upload one of the problem raws to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar service and post the sharing link here. We can see if the issue occurs on other LR installations or is specific to yours.

Hello

Here are the links to two files:

I imported them into two different versions of lightroom on mac, version 14.1.1 and version 14.2

For a visually similar result, I have different temperature/tint pairs

here are my results

                   14.1.1                        14.2
                   temperature tint   temperature tint
_U6A4517 6150                27     6200              1
_U6A4519 5950               29     5950              4

There's a big difference in tint between these two versions.

Can you reproduce the problem?

I'm probably not going to click on a link to a web site that I don't recognize. Putting the sample photos on DropBox or other well known platforms would enable me to download the file and take a look at it.

Hello,

I'm sorry you don't know fromsmash, it's the equivalent of wetransfer but with less restrictions in terms of size and time to retrieve files.

It's a platform I use regularly in the professional world.

Hello dj_paige,

I don't know if you're being humorous or if your remarks are serious.

The forum systematically truncates the URLs I send and also deletes the wetransfer links I've made.

I'm not sure how to get the files to you. If you know of any other file-sharing services (apart from Dropbox, which I don't have), I'd love to hear from you.

If you type the following into Google: fromsmash wikipedia you'll find out more about the service I'm talking about.

Best regards

When imported in LrC 14.2. the Temp/Tint  reads 6200/1 and 5950/4 as you say, and there is no magenta cast.

Have you tried to disable the GPU in preferences?

Also, do you use Eizo ColorNavigator for Calibration?

If, so make sure to use ICC profile version 2 (not 4) and Gamma tone curve (not LUT).

Even if you have used these settings, run the calibration again, your monitor profile may be corrupted.

Hello Per Berntsen

since you've managed to import the files and the temperature/tint pairing corresponds to what I've told you, we're starting to get closer to the problem.

In 14.1.1, these torques don't match, they're 6150/27 and 5950/29.

If you change the tint in Lightroomfrom 1 and 4  to 27 and 29 in lightroom 14.2, the photos will turn magenta.

This is exactly what happened to my entire library when I switched from 14.1.1 to 14.2, since the 0 marks seem to have moved.

which is very problematic given that I have over 300,000 photos in my library.

I got the impression that you were seeing a magenta cast when importing to LrC 14.2, but that seems no to be the case.

When you change the tint from 1 to 27, you will of course get a magenta cast.

I don't know why the tint numbers changed from 14.1 to 14..2, but something could have changed in the way LrC assigns these numbers to the image.

If the image looks the same as in version 14.1, I don't see the problem. The numbers are not important, what matters is how the image looks.

Hello,

I'm having trouble expressing myself

I resume

Everything was fine, until I migrated to 14.2 and all the photos in my library suddenly turned magenta.

If I re-import photos in 14.2, everything's fine. But it's my whole library that's in trouble, I've got over 300,000 photos and I don't want to reprocess them all.

Would you mind sharing one of the magenta files?

Export it as DNG, which will include all the edits. Before exporting, make sure that the topmost (latest) entry in the History panel is selected.

If the file is less than 48 MB, you should be able to attach it to a new post.

This is how the image displays on my computer in LrC 14.2, no magenta tint.

2025-02-19_16-54-53.pngexpand image

If I understand you correctly, the image displays with a magenta tint in LrC after upgrading, but if you import it again, it displays correctly. Is that right?

Please post a screenshot like the one I did, with the same image (the original CR3 file) displaying with a magenta tint.

Make sure that the History panel is visible and expanded on the left, and the histogram and Basic panel are visible and expanded on the right.

Do not attach the screenshot, please use the Insert Photos button in the toolbar to insert it directly in your post.

Hi Per,

You understand me perfecly clear

After updating to 14.2, my image is magenta.  Temperatur/tint are 6100/29

If I reimport it, it works, but I really can do that with 300000 images

here is the screenshot

I have never seen or heard of anything like this, and I have no idea what's going on.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is to try resetting the preferences. I doubt it will have any effect, but it's worth trying. Use method 3 described on this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/reset-preferences.html

Do images display with a magenta cast in both Library and Develop?

And do you see identical histograms in Library and Develop?

Hello Per,

I just think they changed the 0 tint value between version 14.1.1 and version 14.2.

If they changed it, they could have translated all the library values, but that's not the case, the lightroom library hasn't been changed between the two versions.

So it reinterprets in 14.2 the values of the previous library, but which de facto no longer correspond to the same rendering.

The difference is also in the library module.

As a result, I don't really know what to do, I don't want to take over all the post-production of my images.

I'm pretty sure that the rendering has not changed. If it had, Adobe would have announced it, or it would at least have come up here on the forums. You are the only person reporting this issue, so it's something particular to your install, or to your catalog, or to your previews.

I have Lightroom 6 installed, and for the same image it displays the same Temp and Tint values as 14.2.

Can you confirm that Library and Develop display identically – with the same (wrong) colors?

And do the histograms look identical?

Can you also confirm that any file that you import (also files you haven't imported before) display with correct colors?
