Hi! I was curious how to properly transfer my custom presets & custom adjustment brushes from PC to Mac. Is there a way to sync everything over? This is my first time switching from one computer to another involving presets and photos vs starting over from scratch, which I really don't want to have to do if at all possible. Thanks!

Hey @haileywestphoto. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out. Lightroom presets are stored at this location by default unless specified differently by choosing to store presets along with each catalog from Lightroom's Preferences.

  • Go to Preferences > Presets > Click on Show Develop Preset or Show all other Lightroom presets in Lightroom Classic.

  • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Camera Raw\Settings

  • You can enter %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom > Copy the contents of this folder.

  • Move these presets to the new machine at the location shared here https://www.lightroomqueen.com/lightroom-classic-file-locations/
    & it should work.

Let me know if this helps. Thanks!

This was a little helpful but doesn't include all of the steps (or I am blind!).  I copied the file location in the run app but then I am stuck.  The link attached doesn't help me underestand where to go from here.

Thanks,

Robyn

They're just files in folders... it's just a case of finding them on one computer, and copying them to the equivalent place on the new computer.

There are more steps to move your catalog and photos over too, of course. They're detailed here How do I move Lightroom to a new computer? and there's a link to a free eBook that goes into additional detail.
