Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos

After the last upgrade, the title checkbox was unchecked. As a result, I imported about 500 image pairs (raw and jpg) which appeared to populate the Library module as stacked images. However, they can not be unstacked. Both images appear to have landed in the right folder, but only the DNG was visible. I could not access the jpeg at all.

After working with tech support, it appears that this checkbox ONLY functions during the import process, so fixing this issue (so that I could see both the raw and the jpeg) would require me to re-import alal the imported images. What a pain.

So, since this is only functional during import, suggest moving the Treat JPEG... command to the import dialogue.

Also, since this only gives access to one of the images, suggest that this option also include some opportunity to choose which (raw or jpeg) will be shown.

Alternatively

The system could be changed so that this command takes effect on all raw/jpeg image pairs.

You can quickly fix the accidental import by:

1. Check the option Treat JPEG Files Next To Raw Files As Separate Photos.

2. In the Folders panel, right-click one of the folders containing the accidental pairs and do Synchronize Folder, selecting the option Show Import Dialog Before Importing.
