Unable to "Save Metadata to file" for single image (RAF file)

Explorer ,

I'm trying to save metadata to a single RAF file (from a Fuji X100VI) so I can run it through another raw processor. As soon as I click "Save Metadata to file" the status bar appears but nothing else hapens.....I've awaited about 5 mins and the progress bar doesn't move?

What's happening?

Thanks!

Alan

Have you checked in ACR whether the metadata actually have been written?

And just so it's clear, ACR is the only other raw processor that can read Lightroom metadata, and that's only because they are in fact the same raw processor. Any other raw processor won't understand LrC metadata.
