I have used a merged catalog for several years. I have six external drives in my merged catalog. The drives are ordered chronologically. As a drive reaches its capacity, I add a new drive. I am having problems with the stability of LRC with the burden of this merged catalog. My question is can I unmerge these catalogs. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

You can "unmerged" by using the function "Export as catalog". Choose the appropriate images and goto menu File - Export as catalog.

I consider this advice to be poor, at this time. We don't know the cause of the problems Mr. Jackson is facing. He thinks it is the size of the catalog; I think it could be a zillion other things, and unmerging his catalog possibly solves nothing. Better to find out the cause of his problems.

Do not assume that the amount of files and drives in your catalog is the cause! There are many other possible causes, unmerging your catalog may not solve the problem, and has many disadvantages.
Please describe "problems with stability of LrC" in detail.
Please also show us the information in Help->System Info down to the Plugins information. We don't need and don't want and absolutely HATE the information after the plugins.
