What was once an easy process to import thousands of photos over a decade has now turned into confsuion, cokplexity and a waste of time. Adobe sucks, any suggestions for alt software?
Thank you.

@nealedel I can understand your frustration, but only ranting doesn't help. Unfortunately you haven't given us any information about your issue and your system. Therefore, all proposed solutions are a look into the crystal ball.
Please desribe your issue as detailed a possible. Maybe screenshot(s) can help us.
Is your system up-to-date? Do you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. Please make also sure that you have installed the Studio version and not the Game Ready version of your NVidia driver.
Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Lightroom menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

There has been no change to the import process in Lightroom Classic for as far back as I can remember. I started with V 2.0. It's working promply and properly for me. It is important to be sure all the Import options have been selected and set. Perhaps that is where your issue is.
I just imported 800+ images from my recent trip to South Korea. LrC V15. No problems at all. Can you be very specific about the issues you are having?
