Unspecified slowness complaint

My lightroom ws super slow so I upgraded to a new dell 8960, with windows 11, Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900KF, 3000 Mhz, 24 Core(s), 32 Logical Processor(s), 64gb ram, 1tb on C drive and 5tb on D drive. I have Lightroom classic version 13.01.1 and it freezes up all the time. I have the program running on C drive save everything on D drive. looking for answers since it is very frsutating. Thank you for your help!!!

Here are a couple of links that might help

1. Reset LrC Preferences

2. Optimize the computer for LrC.

What do you have for a GPU? Be you have the latest driver direct from the manufacturer, not from Dell or Microsoft.

A new computer. Either from Dell, or from a store?? Dell might be better at this, Some stores may be hopelessly lousy at this.

 

1. Computer hardware drivers

 

So, have you made sure that all the various drivers for that computer from Dell have been updated? I am not talking of just the GPU driver, but all the various chip set drivers, Ethernet drivers, etc.  Some might be critical. (I will not talk about BIOS, updating that can be hazardous)

Yes did latest updates from Dell after I read this. Did the reset and Optimize as well. Here is my system.

Note that trying MS Windows updates for this is a no go.

 

2. Can I assume your Windows OS is up to date, that no updates are called for?

 

3. What about the GPU driver. This via GPU chip MFG. NVIDIA or AMD.
