Use GPU for image processing greyed out for AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT

Use GPU for image processing (Process version 5 or higher) is disabled for Lightroom on an AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT on the latest drivers from AMD (30.0.15021.11005).

The GPU supports DirectX 12 Ultimate and OpenGL 4.6 so it shouldn't have any compatibility issues as per the Lightroom Classic GPU FAQs. The system is running Windows 11 Pro on a Intel Core i7-10700K.

Please go to the following locations

  • C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw
  • Rename the GPU folder as 'GPU.old' (add .old at the end)
  • Restart Lightroom Classic again
