Good morning
It would be helpful and super efficient if I could force Lightroom to use the Smart Previews or other previews I've generated in the library module. This is helpful for reviewing images, rating, organizing, etc. All non-Develop module features. Instead, in the library module when I start scrolling through images and even though I've generated every preview option it still tries to load the original raw files. If I turn off the disk containing the raw file then Lightroom classic reverts to the smart preview successfully and I can use smart previews in the library module to rate , organize , scroll through my photos .
Question : there is an option to force light to use smart preview for and LIMITED to EDITING , is there an option to force Lightroom to use smart previews for the LIBRARY module as swell , if not why ? as I see many benefits in the library module when Lightroom reverts to smart previews when disk is offline ( faster scrolling, not use disque, fan, battery ...)
As far as I am aware while you are working in the Library module the normal preview files are used and not the Smart Previews.

You are right, I find out in the mean time that standard previews ( may be other as well ) are used to build the library grid and to allow smooth display and scrolling, in my case the standard previews were not available anymore which was causing the disk to be accessed .
problème resolved 👍

The name 'smart preview' is misleading. Smart previews aren't previews at all, so they cannot be used to view images. Smart previews should have been called 'smart proxies', because that is what they are. They are small proxies for your original images.
