Virtual copies don't show up as edited

Just upgraded from a very old version of LrC to the newest version.  New problem:

When I create a virtual copy, then do some edits, the virtual copy thumbnails display the "edited" symbol at the bottom right like you would expect, but when I filter by "edited" in Library or Develop, the virtual copies do no show up.  If I optimise my catalog, then they do appear, but obviously I don't want to do that after every edit, lol.

Any ideas on how to solve this? Super annoying, and a dealbreaker to my workflow.  Thanks in advance!

In a first step try is to reset the preferences to the default settings.

  • Reset Procedure:
  • Close Lightroom.
  • Windows: Hold down [Alt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
Mac: Hold down [Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
  • Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
  • Close Lightroom.
  • Restart Lightroom.

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

That seems to have fixed it, thank you!
