Way to change background color of cell in Library grid view LR 6?

New LR Classic CC:

Can't seem to locate an option to modify the library grid view cell background color. Do see it by right-clicking (mac) in Loupe and Develop mode. Would prefer to change it from Medium Gray to Darker Gray if possible so they are all consistent. Guessing you can't though

Thanks in advance for any help.

On mine (Windows), these background options in Preferences / Interface only affect Loupe view - and not Grid view.

In grid view there are 3 levels of gray used to indicate not selected / selected and most selected. I suspect this is why it's fixed. Color from color label can be applied though.

There are actually 4 levels of grey in the Grid view.

Light grey, primary selected.

Slightly darker grey, secondary selected.

Medium grey, Normal, Un-selected.

And Very dark grey, images that are Stacked.

I was really referring to this Preferences setting not affecting the working area background - against which the compact / expanded thumbnails are seen - when in Grid view. But it does affect the corresponding working area background for Loupe view: either while still in Library or else when switching to Develop.

That is IMO inconsistent.

You are of course right that the "slide mount" surrounds to the individual thumbnails in Grid, are themselves toned according to a fixed scheme - a scheme which also applies in the Filmstrip.

I know this is a year old post - but for anyone still looking for an answer this might help.... If you are just wanting to see the photos with a consistant background and not interested in all the date, you could simply use the "Lights Out" function (press L). You can set the "lights out" color to black, dark grey, medium grey, light grey and white. If you press L once it just become transparent so you can still see the data, flags etc, but it makes the background more coherent and I like to set it for white If you press L twice it's solid color.
