I run the sync folders command and choose to look at the PHotos Missing from the folder I just synced. However, none of them shows the "missing" icon. And they are all in place..
Any ideas why it shows them missing? I don't want to delete the "missing" ones in Lightroom for fear I'll actually delete the actual file.

Please share a screenshot of your entire Library Module, in Grid Mode, with the Folders Panel visible.
Looking for something like this:
and/or this
if that is the situation, see:

Your screenshot does not show this because it was cropped so much, but if you have smart previews for these photos then Lightroom Classic won't show the 'missing photo' exclamation point.

And are you aware that the "Missing Photographs" list in the Catalog panel is not 'dynamic'. ie. it does not change unless and until you run the "Find all Missing Photos" function from the menus once again [Library > Find All Missing Photos].
This also means that after synchronizing a folder- the "Missing Photographs" list does not change until you re-run [Library > Find All Missing Photos].

Good day, I experience the same problem. Find All Missing Photos show none be missing. And once I go to sync the problematic folder, I again get 29 of 299 as missing, while they are in place. Develop allows work telling "Original + Smart Preview".
