Basically I'd like to import the catalog, but rather than keep the folder structure of the older catalog, i'd like the photos to automatically conform to the dated folder organizational structure of this current catalog. I dont see any option for this from within the Import From Catalog popup. Am I forced to do this manually after import?
Not possible. A work around would be to save metadata to files in the old catalog, and then not import from that catalog but import the images normally. Of course this has drawbacks as well. You will lose history, virtual copies, flags and collection memberships, so it's up to you to decide what is more important to you.
