Sometimes during an upgrade either:

  • The wrong catalog gets upgraded
  • No catalog gets upgraded, a new catalog is created

Typically none of us get either LrC mistake, but those who do normally get the former. This does not appear to be documented as to the how/why. IMO a corrupt preference file exists. Solution is to use your OS file browser to locate the correct pre upgrade catalog, and double click on it, and cross your fingers.
