IMO That's a job for Photoshop 'Select and mask'

2021-06-12 15_20_00-© 20200209-RHC-G7X-0510.CR2 @ 7.25% (Layer 1, RGB_16) _.jpg  2021-06-12 15_25_47-© 20200209-RHC-G7X-0510.CR2 @ 7.25% (RGB_16).jpg

In LrC, even with a Brush or Gradient with Auto Mask & Range Mask, selecting the 'background' and doing an extreme over-exposure will not get you total 'white', unless you photographed items on a white back-drop.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.

I agree that PS is a more powerful tool for doing this. But you can usually get quick, good results in LR by using the Adjustment Brush and then setting Exposure through Blacks all the way to the right and Clarity all the way to the left:

For example:

If there are any stray splotches that still aren't white, you can use the Spot Removal brush with Clone to get rid of them.
