I shoot RAW (DNG) on my iPhone 14Pro. To move pics from my Smartphone to my M1 iMac I use Airdrop. For awhile now the photos have been getting duplicated. Not all but many. And the ones that are not duplicated have 2 in the file name. So, IMG_4829 will also be IMG_4829 2. But IMG_4828 2 won't be a duplicate.
Any idea why this is happening? What a hassle to delete the dupes.
Thanks

If they get the " 2" from Airdrop, you're probably in the wrong spot to ask.
Please describe your process in much more details, and also let us know the exact version of Lightroom Classic you are using.

LRC 12.2 RAW 15.2
but I'm not importing them from my phone into LRC. Phone to hard drive. So LRC has nothing to do with it, but y'all know a lot so I thought I'd try here as well as Apple. No response from them.
Thanks!

Are you using LrMobile too? And might you be automatically importing them? This would mean the Airdrop step is unnecessary and is causing the duplication.

Embarrased to learn auto syncing with iCloud is much easier and doesn't duplicate. I'll be downloading from there to hard drive then deleting from phone.
Thanks all for your help.

Even easier is to install LrMobile and enable its automatic importing (which gets any pics shot with the phone's camera), and to use LrMobile's camera. Then you don't have to bother downloading, as they're automatically sent to LrC.

@lincolns65043649 , you stated, "I shoot RAW (DNG) on my iPhone 14Pro. To move pics from my Smartphone to my M1 iMac I use Airdrop.".
I believe when you do Airdrop you will receive a jpeg preview and not the RAW, when you import you will get the RAW DNG.
