It is quite some time since I used matte paper last time so when i tried it now, I run into problems. I chose the correct ICC profile and ticked off Matte in the Printer module, but the printer did not change to matte. I tried different ICC profiles without any help. When using Mirage Print app, everything worked fine.
I am using LR 11.1, IMac M1 computer and Epson 3880 printer.

" I run into problems" How are these problems exhibited in your prints?
"...but the printer did not change to matte" Are saying that when you went to PRINTER SETUP that you didn't see MATT selected in the 3380 menu?
"Mirage Print app, everything worked fine" Are you using the stand-alone program or the plug-in? How does the print look better.

"..ticked off Matte in the Printer module, but the printer did not change to matte" Changing the Paper Type to Matte is mainly used from sharpening. From this article:
"The paper type specified in the Print Job panel is used to calculate print sharpening. Some printer drivers may also include a paper type option in the Print dialog box that must be specified separately."

Thank you, guys for your support. The problem is now solved. Here is the path I used: Print Settings, Printer Settings, Media type: Enhanced Matte Paper.

I chose the correct ICC profile
ICC for the paper AND the ink?
Or just the paper?

How do you know it did not use matte ink? Printer uses matt ink is controlled by the media you choose.

Selecting the profiles (for Epson) isn't enough, you need to set the Epson driver for this as well (media settings) and that can be stored in the Print Template.
