Why don’t new files automatically show up in Lightroom Classic?

Lightroom Classic is not a file browser, you have to import files to be able to see them.

If you have new files in a folder that you have already imported files from, you can also right click the folder in the Folders panel, and choose Synchronize Folder.

You can also automatically import new photos using Watched Folders.
