Why won't LR export copy file to PS only original file?

Since adding a new SSD drive to my computer, LR will not export a copy file to PS, only the original file. Any help would be appreciated. I am running the latest LR & PS. Everything was OK before the new drive was added.

What file type are you attempting to send to PS for further editing?

Does the file open in Photoshop?

This is most likely a common misunderstanding. If you send a RAW file to Photoshop, then the name of the file window in Photoshop shows the raw extension. This is not because Photoshop has opened the original raw file (that's impossible), but because the file has not been saved yet. When you hit 'Save', the file will be saved as TIFF or PSD, depending on the external editor settings.

My understanding is, when you select a RAW image in LrC and select edit in PS and the Camera Raw plug-in is at the same version as LrC, the Lightroom edits info will be sent to PS and the Camera Raw plug-in will render the raw image and the rendered image data will displayed in Photoshop. The data is in memory.
No new image has been created, this will only happen when you save the rendered image from Photoshop.

@DdeGannes That's correct, except that of course a new image has been created. It was created by ACR and opened in Photoshop, so you are looking at it. It has just not been saved to disk yet. And that is what I said: because the new image has not been saved to disk yet, you'll still see the original raw extension, not yet the file extension of the image when saved to disk.
