How do I get LRC 24 to show a subfolder already created in the parent folder? Yes, I have ticked and unticked the "show subfolders" option, I have tried to "Synchronized" folder etc. etc. Nothing seems to work. I can see the folder in question in Bridge but not in LRC. The other subfolders show with their pictures. Not one. What's up with that?
* For those who need to know. I'm using windows 11, the latest LRC version update, same for the other Adobe suite programs, the folder is in an external drive, (Seagate 4tb Red -yes it is connected). I have chosend for LR to backup when rebooting (5 times), changed the view to dark and back to day on desktop, cursed a bunch of times, watched Terry White videos in search of answer, prayed a few more times too. I hope I haven't forgotten something that someone may ask in order to help me with this topic.
Thank you in advance!

There is no LrC 24. Maybe you mean LrC 13.5.1?

I don't understand the problem. Just because Bridge shows a folder does not mean LrC will show the same folder. First, please tell us, in detail, step-by-step, how you created this folder. Next, please tell us if there are actual photos in the folder that have been imported into LrC.
Next, I make a suggestion that you didn't ask for. Use keywords to separate these different categories of photos, rather than folder names. Then this whole issue of creating a folder and then finding that folder goes away.

Hi there,
Yes, there are images in the folder that does not appear.
1- File
2-Import Photos and Video...
3-Select Source (My SD Card)
4-New Phothos ( ticked)
5-Apply During Import (My keywords for those images)
6-Destination (My external drive)
7- Select the folder I need them to be in
8- Right click
9- Create new folder with the name of what I need
OR Tick Into Subfolder and give it a name
10- Once the correct folder is selected click Import
I'm not quite understanding how to "separate" the different categories of photos with keywords. Isn't what a folder name does? But, if there's a better way, I'm all for it.
Thank you!

Regarding your sequence of steps, somewhere along the way you must have done somthing different or wrong, because LrC does not know about this folder. Go into LrC's Library module, click on All Photographs, turn off filters, and then search for one of these photos by file name. You can then find the folder it is in by right-clicking on the photo and selecting "Show in Explorer" (on Windows) or "Show in Finder" (on Mac)
Yes, folders can separate photos, but they are an old fashioned tool that was not designed for photos and are inadequate for many common situation (which you may or may not have experienced). Suppose you want to identify the game, and the player's name and the player's team, and maybe other information. These photos can have a keyword for game and keyword for the player's name and a keyword for the player's team. You can't do this with folders unless you make identical copies of the photo and put one in the folder for this game and put another in the folder for the player and put another copy in the folder for the team.

Hello dj_paige,
I think I found a solution. I went back to File - Import Photos and Videos, Went back into the folder where I know the photos are and selected it. The photos were grayed out. I clicked on ADD and unticked the Don't Import Suspected Duplicates that allowed me to select the images again and I simply imported them - again - into the same folder. It worked.! No duplicates either.
Is not the most elegant solution but my images are there now and I can edit them in LrC. Geez. That can't be solution to the issue. I have to believe that there's a better, simpler and probably correct way to do it.
After all, what happens when you create or move a folder outside LrC? How then, do you get LR to read and recognized that new folder or moved?!
There's got to be a simpler solution.

I don't really think this is a solution. I htink you have created a worse situation. You have previously imported the photos, now you have imported them again. I believe there are duplicates. So there are two copies of each photo, with potentially different edits and potentially different user provided metadata, which is a cause of future confusion.
So, I still think you should search for there photos in LrC as I suggested earlier.

Don't do this. Please don't do this. You will be much better off learning to use LrC tools (like keywords) to allow you to navigate to certain photos, rather than using folders or other operating system tools. (There is one exception when you should move photos and that is if a disk is getting full or seems to be malfunctioning, then you should move them, instructions are here: https://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm )

Thank you for your imput. At the time I could not access the "all photographs" in the library mode. Who knows why.
I appreciate the advice on naming the files. I have done that but probably not the correct way. I would like to go back and renamed them or add keywords but I'll probably make matters worse in LrC. I do need to move (copy) files and folders to another external drive due to running out of space on the 1st one. I'm sure that's gonna cause havoc in LrC trying to find that 2nd back up drive. I need to take a deep look at that information you linked.
I have not found any duplicates of those original images. But, I've noticed a few glitchy things with them. I haven't had any issues before or after with sequence routine of importing from one device to another. Strange why a single file (folder) would totaly become invisible only in LrC.
I'm worry that LrC won't be able to find whatever images or files were created or moved in other application before or even after LrC installation.

So, trying to make a bit of sense from those two somewhat limiting screenshots (would be nice to see more). I assume that 5th game is missing?
If you look at your folder panel again, are their additional instances of 2024? additional instances of Red devils-1? And what hard drive is this in? any additional instances of the hard drive?
